While the United States is past the emergency phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the virus remains a threat to public health, especially for vulnerable populations like the elderly and immunocompromised. To continue protecting our population from evolving strains of the virus, staying up to date on COVID-19 boosters is essential. Boosters improve our immune response to COVID-19, reducing the severity of illness and the spread of infection.

The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older get the latest COVID-19 vaccine (2023-2024) for continued protection. Additionally, it is recommended that people 65 and older who have previously received one dose of any updated vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer, or Novavax) get another dose at least 4 months later. The COVID-19 booster offers safe and effective protection. By getting boosted, we can all do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
